Jerome Tso Wing Huen - BCM 302 Advanced Digital Artefact

After the pitch, I felt that Zoom-like software could assist users or patients with their autistic problems, fitting into the trend or practice in society, and accommodate their availability. In addition, there are plenty of reviews of my digital artifact, some of them praising it with tons of suggestions that can be reviewed and considered for further changes in future posts.

The first comment I received was from Wincy.

Wincy praised that I am willing to discover this particular social issue and want to assist, as mental illness is considered to be one of the most popular and common problems in our society. Nevertheless, she wants to learn more about how to ensure patients would join this platform to participate in the "Zoom" meeting. Well, not many patients are willing to show up in a different place or communicate with others, and the psychiatrist physically, For the virtual meetings, I need to make sure that the patients understand the purpose of the meeting, such as solutions for tackling each of their problems. This can assist them in learning from each other and have a chance to get along as new friends.

Moreover, she also suggested adding a support group. “It is a group that gathers people who have similar experiences (mental), to share about themselves, no matter the sickness history or daily life sharing, to make a supportive effect and encourage the patient to face the illness and life.” It is not just in the physical world; I think it is a great idea to hold one as a function in the Zoom-like software so that users can select which form of communication or activity to attend.

This comment was from Cecilia

Cecilia inspected that it would be important to consider any potential threats or concerns, such as privacy, security, or technical limitations that could impact the user experience. On the contrary, these issues are something I need to think of. Sometimes technical errors may occur if there are too many patients attending the virtual meeting at the same time, such as jumping out of the meeting unexpectedly and rough running pace. Additionally, they may feel insecure about whether everything in the meeting is recorded, or even data breached, which compromised the data of each user, including the psychiatrist.

Also, Cecilia suggested that I could consider exploring more tailored features for the autism community. such as specialized communication tools, and a more autism-friendly UX design for integrating with autism-specific resources, that could be meaningful for users. In addition, she also provided that incorporating feedback loops with the target user group throughout the development process would help ensure the application truly meets their needs so that patients can revisit them anytime they need.

Throughout the reviews from classmates, they can enhance the functionality of the Zoom-like software, providing patients with a comfortable area to communicate and receive useful materials to cure themselves naturally. In addition, handing out a meaningful design with a strong message of curing mental health issues can allow patients to engage in the platform.
